Echoes of the Horizon / 36 x 36 / acrylic on canvas

** DONATED TO THE PRATT ART INSTITUTE LIVE AUCTION ON MAY 9TH, 2026 **

This painting tells the story of a place where distance remembers itself. The horizon stretches quietly, neither arriving nor retreating, holding the accumulated echoes of every gaze that has ever rested upon it. Sky and land (or sea) meet in softened layers, their boundaries blurred, as if time has worn them down through repetition.

Light moves gently across the surface, carrying the feeling of something once spoken and now only felt. The space feels open but not empty—an invitation rather than a destination. What matters here is not what lies beyond the horizon, but the way it continues to call back to you, returning fragments of thought, memory, and longing.

Echoes of the Horizon is a meditation on continuity and return. It captures the moment when looking outward becomes an inward act, when the farthest line in sight reflects something quietly persistent within us, asking nothing more than to be noticed.
